We are West Hollywood's aquatics workers, united.
The lifeguards and aquatics aides who staff West Hollywood's pools year-round, organizing a union of our own with AFSCME. We asked the City to recognize it. They said no. We're not backing down.

What we're working toward
A first contract that puts real, enforceable standards in writing.
Just cause protections
No more at-will. You should only be disciplined or fired for a real, documented reason, with a fair process to fight back.
Fair pay and real raises
Step increases based on hours worked. Swim lesson pay equity: if you're teaching, you should be paid for teaching, regardless of classification.
Year-round, not disposable
We're year-round part-time staff, not seasonal temps, and we're not asking to be made full-time. Lift the 1000-hour cap that's used to keep us part-time and shut out of benefits, and end at-will, disposable treatment.
